Partnering to provide preschool-aged children with educational resources, Young Kia and the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation held their eleventh annual Stuff the Bus event on Sept. 14.

“This is one of our dealership’s favorite events to host and be a part of each year,” said Dallin Breshears, general manager at Young Kia. “We value opportunities like this to interact with our community outside of the showroom and to give back to this amazing area.”

An atmosphere designed for family fun, Stuff the Bus featured face painters, games, refreshments, balloon artists and collection bins for school supplies.

Donations and funds from the event were delivered to Davis School District, and will go towards benefiting Headstart programs — which provide free preschool education to children from low income families. 

“Our foundation is dedicated to ensuring that kids have the resources they need to succeed,” said Tami Olsen, director of Young Caring for Our Young. “We’re grateful for this opportunity to provide these resources to children in need, and we appreciate partners like Young Kia who share our same passion for serving our community.”

Apart from what was donated by volunteers, Young Kia made a sizable contribution as well. Starting with a $10,000 donation, the dealership held a coloring contest — where they added $5 to the total for every entry they received. 

Both Young Kia and the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation are currently celebrating the Young Automotive Group’s 100th year of business. Founded by Seldon “Jack” Olsen in 1924, the company has grown from a single location to an over 30 franchise operation that spans across three states.

Originally acquired over 25 years ago, Young Kia is currently one of the Young Automotive Group’s oldest dealerships. They not only host Stuff the Bus annually, but participate in community initiatives like their Teacher of the Year giveaway as well — which provides Davis School District’s best educator with an all-expenses paid one year lease.

“What we love about holding events like this is that we get to see a community come together for an incredible cause,” said Breshears. “People across Davis County and the Young Automotive Group gather to support this effort, and it’s powerful to see. We’re grateful for opportunities to give back with incredible individuals.”
