Providing for preschool-aged children across Davis County, Young Kia will partner with the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation to hold their eighth annual Stuff the Bus event on Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
“One of the reasons we’ve loved holding Stuff the Bus for so long is because it’s incredibly impactful,” said Dallin Breshears, Young Kia’s general manager. “Helping children start their educational journey on the right foot has a strong residual effect, and we know that by providing them with resources, we’re making a difference that can affect their futures.”
Held at the dealership’s facility on 380 N Main Street in Layton, the Stuff the Bus event will feature face painters, games, refreshments and balloon artists. The organizations will also be collecting donations for the following:
- Preschool Children’s Books
- Crayons
- Safety Scissors
- Glue Sticks
- Markers
- Pencils
- Backpacks
- Drawing, coloring and construction paper
- Art Supplies
- Matching Games/Cards
- Blocks
- Legos
- Puzzles
In addition to those items, Young Caring for Our Young will be accepting monetary contributions for Stuff the Bus on their website and at the event. All donations will benefit the Davis School District’s Headstart program — which provides free preschool education to students from low income families.
“We love having Stuff the Bus each year,” said Tami Olsen, the director of Young Caring for Our Young. “It’s powerful to see so many people come together to help kids.”
Along with the festivities, Young Kia will be giving away Nintendo Switch. Attendees can earn a chance to win one by either making a donation for Stuff the Bus or filling out a coloring page from Young Caring for Our Young’s website. Winner’s will be announced after the event.
The dealership and foundation are currently a part of the Young Automotive Group’s 100 year anniversary celebration. Founded by Seldon “Jack” Olsen in 1924, the company has grown from a single dealership to over 30 operations across three states.
One of the Young Automotive Group’s oldest locations, Young Kia joined the group before the turn of the millennium.
“Our company is dedicated to upholding a strong set of core values and a series of traditions,” said Breshears. “There’s something special about hosting long-running events like this during a milestone year. We can’t wait to engage with the community again for Stuff the Bus.”
