I serve on the Board for Young Caring For Our Young because I have a strong belief that we are always able to do better, do more, reach a little higher, and do something for someone else. Many of us are blessed in life even if we do not know that we are. When you recognize that, you are able to see outside of yourself and help others. I was lucky enough to be an advocate first and that is where I learned a lot more about the Kind Fund. My team and I have gone shopping together multiple times and it’s always an emotional experience, but what is even more eye opening is when you go drop off clothing. When a teacher starts to tear up and give you a hug while telling you how happy they are to see you, you realize how important what we do is. There is probably a child sitting in class wishing they could have some shoes without holes while you are out shopping for them.
